Relay For Life Draws Hundreds To Riis Park, Raises $42,000
More Than A Dozen Teams Walk Day And Night For Cure
More than a dozen teams braved high winds to take part in the annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life, which was held on the Riis Park Mall last Saturday evening into Sunday. Team members walked laps all night long to raise money that will be used to find a cure for the disease. The evening was led off by a “Survivors’ Lap,” the participants of which have survived cancer. Each team then walked one lap together, accompanied by their chosen team song.
