Peninsula Hospital Center Auxiliary Donation

The Peninsula Hospital Center Auxiliary, at its recent meeting, presented Robert V. Levine, president and Chief Executive Officer, with a check for $15,000 to be dedicated to the expansion of the Hospital Center’s Butterflies by the Sea, Eisenstadt Hospice Care Unit. Each year, the Auxiliary decides on a special project for which it raises money and in 2010, the selection was to assist with the expansion and relocation of the inpatient hospice unit. “This very special unit has helped so many people in our community,” explained Sheila Schwartz, president of the Auxiliary. “Everywhere I go in the community, I hear of someone else who benefitted from the excellent care in that unit, so we all agreed that we would work very hard and make a donation to that wonderful service here in our community.”

Joel A. Miele Sr., chairman, Board of Directors, gave a special thank you to the Auxiliary group for their efforts. “We need to expand our inpatient hospice unit and we are particularly pleased that our Auxiliary is so generously helping the Hospital Center. The physical environment of our hospice unit is unique; we are very appreciative of the continuing assistance of our Auxiliary in many respects.”
