‘Butterflies By The Sea’ Wins Hospice Care Award
The staff of the Butterflies by the Sea, Eisenstadt Hospice Care at Peninsula Hospital Center was recently given the prestigious 2010 Hospice Care Team Award by Hospice Care Network at its Annual Meeting. The award was presented to the Hospital Center’s inpatient hospice team for the exceptional, experienced, comprehensive and compassionate care it provides to those most in need of comfort at the end of life – both patients and their families.
Alexis Reyes, RN, Nurse Manager of the Hospice Unit, accepted the award on behalf of the Hospital Center’s team by saying, “The past two years have been a blessing for our community and our hospital. What began as a concept and a philosophy has evolved into a distinct and unique environment. Every patient is an individual on our unit and each is afforded the opportunity to shape how their care is rendered. It is truly a nurturing environment.”
Robert V. Levine, president and Chief Executive Officer of Peninsula Hospital Center, was very gratified that the Hospital Center’s hospice team distinguished itself among many others to receive this award. “Our staff continues to work very hard to deliver highly specialized, skilled care and our hospice team has exceeded our expectations,” Levine said. “So many patients and families have been helped through very difficult times by our hospice team and it has certainly earned this very special recognition. We are very proud of the outstanding work the team does each day.”
