Marion Coyne

Telephone Switchboard Operator

Marion Coyne, 75, a 35-year Rockaway resident, died June 3.

Coyne was born on August 23, 1934 in Greenock, Scotland. She worked as a telephone switchboard operator for the New York Telephone Company and Peninsula Hospital Center.

She is survived by her sons, James Francis Coyne and Richard Francis Coyne; daughter-in-law, Mary Beth; grandchildren, Riley, Catherine and Noelle; sisters, Isabel MacLeod, Flora Sproul and Morag Connal; and brother, James Egan.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach. A funeral mass took place at St. Francis de Sales Church, Belle Harbor on June 7. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Vallhalla, New York.
