Father-Daughter Chat

Dear Editor,

“Did you plug the whole yet, Daddy?” “No not yet, princess.”

“Why not, Daddy?”

“Because BP is one of Daddy’s largest political contributors and we can’t aggravate them in any way.”

“But, Daddy isn’t it more important to save all the little fishes and birdies in the Gulf, than to save the tooshies of some big corporate meanies?”

Normally that would be true, princess, but in this case some of those meanies work for the Halliburton Corporation and Mr. Chaney told Daddy he didn’t want their involvement emphasized in any way.”

“Daddy, is that Mr. Chaney from the Horrorburton Corporation the same guy in all those monster movies?”

“No princess, that is just the common misconception, and it’s Halliburton, not Horrorburton. It is very important to enunciate properly.”

“Ok Daddy, then how come if you brought all this ‘change’ to Washington, the radio still always plays that song that goes, ‘Meet the new boss, same as the old boss’?”

“Well princess, um, um, that’s because er, um, um … Aw, where is Rahm Emmanuel when you really, really, need him?!”
