Last Chance To See Cactus Flower
The cast of the Rockaway Theatre Company’s madcap production of Abe Burrows’ Cactus Flower takes to the stage for three final performances this weekend. Any member of the packed audiences during the first two weekends of the play’s run will tell you that this is an evening of hysteria which is not to be missed.
The play focuses on a swinging ’60s bachelor dentist named Julian Winston, whose misogynistic lifestyle catches up with him in a hilarious turn of events.
The play is directed by the talented Susan Corning and features a terrific cast headed by Roger Gonzalez as the dentist, Jodee Timpone as his nurse and Catherine Leib as his quirky young girlfriend, Toni.
Cactus Flower takes us back to the ’60s not only with its typical ’60’s humor and costumes, but with the great Tijuana Brass music, reminiscent of the popular TV show “Laugh- In,” which is featured throughout the show.
A spokerson calls the show “An hilarious farce, delivered masterfully by a cast with impeccable comic timing.
If you want to have a laugh-filled evening in the theater, you really must get up to Fort Tilden during this final weekend.” The final three performances of Cactus Flower are scheduled for tonight (June 11) and tomorrow night (June 12) at 8 p.m.
There will be one final matinee on Sunday (June 13) at 2 p.m. Call the RTC Hotline at 718-850-2450 or visit www.rockawaytheatrecompany.org and make your reservations immediately or you’ll miss it.
