Domestic Worker

Doris Stoudemire, 79, a longtime Inwood resident, died May 20.

Stoudemire was born on November 14, 1930 in Branchville, Virginia and was a domestic worker. She was a member of the Lawrence Baptist Church where she served on the senior choir.

Stoudemire was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; sister, Ida Walden; and brothers, George Brown, John L. Brown, Harry Brown and Willie Brown.

She is survived by her sisters, Mae Francis Mason and Lillie DeLoatch of Washington D.C.; children, Sheila Paige of Groton, Connecticut and Dwayne Johnson of Jamaica, New York; son-in- law, Bruce Paige; grandchildren, Tatyanna, Noah and Jordin; and her First Baptist Church family, Five Towns Senior Center family, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. A funeral mass took place at First Baptist Church of Lawrence, Lawrence, New York. Disposition followed at St. Michael’s Crematory, East Elmhurst, New York.
