Upcoming Election

Dear Editor,

I read with interest the article stating Asher Taub is running against Gregory Meeks for the 6th District, House of Representatives. In my opinion he made some good points to support his reasons for running, but towards the end of the article he seemed to doubt his own chances in the statement about him being an orthodox Jew, “It will help in some areas and hurt in others.”

I believe if Mr. Taub, or any candidate for that matter, has a strong platform to bring to the voters he should emphasize those strengths instead of having to add race or religion to the mix, which is counter-productive, especially with all the important issues that face our country at this time.
