After a very successful season, first year out Aviator U13 players from Breezy Point and Rockaway were rewarded for their hard work and success by qualifying to compete in the U.S.A. Volleyball Girls Jr. National Championships.

The championships will be held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nevada from June 24 through July 3. There will be 808 teams representing all 50 states at this event. Going into its 31st running, the U.S.A. Volleyball Girls Jr. National Championship attracts nearly 9,500 athletes annually. The tournament will crown 19 champions in age divisions ranging from 12 to 18.

Coach Jim Sluyk and director of Volleyball at Aviator, Linda Strong, anticipate that the trip to Reno will be an experience of a lifetime for the girls.

A spokesperson for the team says, “Please help support our team when you see the girls fundraising throughout the community. All the expenses are being paid by the girls and their families, so your generosity would be greatly appreciated when purchasing 50/50 and other raffle tickets from them.”
