Lynne Bachrow, 87, a longtime Rockaway resident, died May 20.
Bachrow was born on February 24, 1923 in Oakland, California. She was a resident of Rockaway and Five Towns for more than 50 years. She worked as a merchandiser for J.W. Mays Company and Leather Warehouse and as a poll worker for the New York City Board of Elections. As an Eisenhower Republican, she was active in the Regular Republican Club of the Rockaways, a volunteer for Peninsula Hospital, Girl Scouts and the P.S. 42 Parents Association. She also volunteered for the Ladies auxiliary of the congregation Derech Emunoh in Arverne.
Bachrow was preceded in death by her husband, Albert.
She is survived by her five children, Neil, Craig, Fern and Karl of Florida and Elisa of Inwood, New York; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements and memorial service remained private. Interment took place at New Montefiore Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
