From recovering trash in the dunes to removing sand from the stairs leading to the beach, by the benches and around O’Donohue Park, Disney Volunteers spread out across the lower part of Far Rockaway Beach last Saturday.

This is the third year that Disney Volunteers have come to assist the Department of Parks and Recreation.

In addition to Disney’s help, local groups such as the Beachside Bungalow Preservation Association, with a grant from the Citizen’s Committee for New York City, held two cleanups this spring with a third one scheduled for June 12.
