Help Make One’s Prom Dream Come True

For the second year in a row, the First Congregational Church of Rockaway Beach is asking the community to dig into their closets to help make prom dreams come true for eighth graders at PS 183 (The Richard R. Green School), of Beach 79 Street.

New or lightly-used dresses that would make suitable prom attire, in sizes 8 - 18, can be brought to the church on Wednesday mornings, May 26 or June 2, between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

The church is located at 320 Beach 94 Street, near the entrance ramp to the Cross Bay Bridge. Local merchants (including retail and thrift stores) who wish to donate formalwear may also call Vivian Carter, Advertising Representative at The Wave, 718-634-4000, extension 32, to arrange for a drop-off or pickup. Donations of new or lightly used suits for young men in comparable sizes are also welcome. Items will be collected through June 4.
