According to police sources, the unidentified victim and his girlfriend were taking a walk in front of 13-20 McBride Street at about 9 p.m. on May 6 when the shots were fired from an undisclosed location nearby.

Several of the shots struck the 29-year-old man in his legs and torso.

Sources say that the shots came so suddenly and were so unexpected that the girlfriend never got a clear look at where the shots came from.

Eyewitnesses say that she fell down next to his lifeless body, screaming for help.

“She heard the shots and then saw her boyfriend fall, she never saw the shooter or where the shots came from,” a police source said.

Police responding to calls for help found the victim unconscious and unresponsive.

EMS workers declared the victim dead at the scene.

The murder was the first for newly-appointed 101 Precinct Commanding Officer, Michael Lipetri, who took command of the precinct on Wednesday morning. Detectives from the 101 Squad are investigating. Anybody with information is urged to call the detectives at 718-868-3429.
