Historical Views of the Rockaways

Bedford Avenue, Rockaway Point, Long Island, 1920
From The Rockaway Museum Commentary by Emil Lucev, Curator Dedicated To The Memory Of Leon S. Locke

With this old photograph of Bedford Avenue, from the Catholic Church to the Bayside at Rockaway Point… I am really hoping that someone will recognize and identify some of the residents who posed for the camera. There are about fifty persons hamming it up for the postcard to be published by point pioneer Howard Reid. The fellow at the right has on some sort of uniform with badges on his hat and shirt. The card was sent to an Edward in the city, from Mrs. Walter E. Cook. Help!, Somebody!, Help!
