In the U10 division of the CJSL the Rockaway United Boys came out on top of a gut-checking, thrilling 1-0 victory against the Brooklyn Mariners. Just a month earlier, the Rock United Boys fought to a 3-3 tie against the Mariners and knew the rematch would be a dogfight. In Anthony Cimino’s absence in goal due to an injury, Jack MacNamee performed heroically making saves, seemingly coming out of nowhere time and time again.

Jag Guiderelli and Emmitt Espisito were warriors on the field, fighting every step of the way.

The Rockaway United squad played the entire game with four defenders to stifle the speed of the Mariner’s attack.

Griffin Skammel, Joe Braskey, Conner Baldwin, Owen Comer, Colm Williams and Chris Koenig cycled through the defensive line to keep the deadly offense of the Brooklyn boys at bay.

Late into the second half is when the RU boys punched it in for the only score of the match when Gerard Rodman bested the Mariners’ keeper with his late game heroics.
