Eugene Thomas O’Sullivan

Eugene Thomas O’Sullivan, 77, a lifelong Broad Channel resident, died May 2.

O’Sullivan was born in Broad Channel on January 6, 1933 and worked for American Airlines for 40 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy communications division from 1952 to 1956. He was a member of St. Virgilius Church and the American Legion. O’Sullivan volunteered for the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department Mardi Gras fundraising, and was a member of the U.S. Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association.

O’Sullivan was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Bertha O’Sullivan; and son-in-law, Christopher Keegan.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Colleen Keegan, Eugene, Jr., Michael, Kevin, Patrick, Rev. Timothy O’Sullivan and Erin Steiner; son-inlaw, Robert Steiner; daughters-in-law, Donna, Gail, Rosemary and Lily; fourteen grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hillebrand Funeral Home, Broad Channel, New York. A funeral mass was conducted by his son, Reverend Timothy O’Sullivan at St. Virgilius Church, Broad Channel. Interment took place at St. John’s Cemetery, Woodhaven, New York.
