Bravest And Finest To Be Honored At Luncheon
The Chamber of Commerce of the Rockaways will host its annual Bravest and Finest Luncheon, recognizing several police officers, firefighters and emergency medical workers who serve Rockaway. The honorees have gone above and beyond the call of duty to serve the communities of Rockaway and Broad Channel.
The luncheon will be held at Russo’s On The Bay, 162-45 Cross Bay Boulevard in Howard Beach, from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11.

Tickets to the event are $55 for uniformed service members and $65 for everybody else. Tickets can also be purchased at Brown’s Hardware, 245 Beach 116 Street and at Allstate Insurance, 112-30 Beach Channel Drive.
This year’s honorees from the New York Police Department are Police Officer Shaquan Harvin of the 101 Precinct, Sergeant Brian Stamm and Police Officer Alex Martins, both from the 100 Precinct. Transit District 23 Police Officer Frederick Williams will also be honored.
EMS workers, Paramedics Jason Verspoor and Thomas McCarthy; EMT William Rush and EMT Wayne Young; and Lieutenant Louis Cook will be recognized for their service as well.
New York Fire Department will have Firefighters Casey Skudin, Randy Eichin and William Burns recognized for their efforts, alongside Battalion Chief Thomas O’Neill and Captain Frank Piarulli.
