The Scholars’ Academy Boys Middle School basketball team defeated M.S. 105 in a competitive match, claiming the Peninsula championship. Lead by eighth-grader C.J. Davis, the Seawolves finished with an undefeated record of 9-0.

Coming into the game with a 7-1 record, M.S. 105 was a formidable opponent, but the Seawolves dug in on defense and went into halftime with a lead.

Scholars’ Academy pulled away in the second half thanks to Michael Buckley’s sharp shooting, and the tenacious rebounding of Adam Cruz and James Thompson. Point guard Pat Cashin and Andre Olatunbosun were consistent throughout the game and helped seal the victory.

Scholars’ coach Drew Goodman said it best when he stated after the game that the teamwork was the key to victory.

“I think the best part of the season was that the players enjoyed coming to practice and saw the results of their hard work,” Goodman said.
