Emma L. Garrick
Emma Garrick, 70, a longtime Rockaway resident, died April 13.
Garrick was born on May 20, 1939 in Augusta, Georgia and worked as a Sunday school teacher. She also ordained an elder at St. Marks Holiness Church in 2008.
She is survived by her children, Hillary, Wanda, Derrick, Stephen and Susan; sisters, Charity, Brenda and Mary, all of Augusta, Georgia; brother, James also of Augusta, Georgia; grandchildren, Danyaal, Monique, Christina and Isaiah McClendon; great-grandson, Daniel M. Hudson; daughter-in-law, Sharon Hudson; sonin law, Daniel McClendon; Pastor Bishop Warren Shivers and the Wings of Faith; Bishop Townsley and the St. Marks family; a host of nieces and nephews; Darrel and Sandra Price, Elder Smith (Stein) and her son-inlaw; and mother, Francis Wilkens.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. A funeral mass took place at St. Marks Holiness Church, Brooklyn, New York. Interment followed at Forest Park Cemetery, Morganville, New Jersey.
