Bernard J. Woods
Bernard J. Woods, a 53-year Rockaway resident, died April 29.
Woods was born in New York, New York and moved to Rockaway from Woodside, New York. He worked as a welder for Con Edison for more than 42 years and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Woods was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Jemmott.
He is survived by his wife, Mary P. Woods (nee Moran); children, Eileen Killian, Sally Quin (Owen), Buddy Woods (Patricia) and Tommy Woods (Michele); brother, John Woods; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brian, Kathleen, Mary Ellen, Brendan and Thomas Woods, Danny and Kevin Quinn, Sarah, Bridget and Trish Killian.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach. Visitation will take place Sunday, May 2 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. A funeral mass will take place on Monday, May 3 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, Belle Harbor. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
