Thank You RLL

The following letter was sent to the Rockaway Little League.

Dear Martin Andresen, President, Rockaway Little League

I am writing to express my sincerest appreciation to you, Members of the Board of Directors and all of the volunteers at the Rockaway Little League for the wonderful Opening Day festivities held Saturday, April 17.

Mary Caitlyn was honored to be invited to throw out the first pitch for the “Challenger Division” game on Field #2. It brought back sweet memories of games played and days spent at Fort Tilden. This was especially significant since Field #2 has now been dedicated in remembrance of her beloved father, John M. Cunneen who, like you, spent many days at the fields as a volunteer and supporter of the Rockaway Little League.

The League’s development has been terrific since it’s beginnings at “Surfside Park.”

This is great testament to the shared commitment of the Board and all the volunteers to provide a safe, fun, and healthy place for the youth of our community.

John’s involvement and enthusiasm towards the RLL was well known and it is very gratifying to know he has been recognized in this way. Thanks to this dedication, John’s spirit will be remembered in the hearts of all those who participate in the RLL at Fort Tilden.

So many children, families and the community as a whole benefit from your tireless work and generous efforts. Please know we are all very grateful.

MARY ALISON CUNNEEN
