Rockaway Ravens Hold Football Awards Ceremony

By Thaddeus Charles

On Saturday April 10, the Rockaway Ravens held their eighth annual award ceremony at the Knights of Columbus. The players were recognized for both their athletic and academic outstanding achievements.

The Ravens were all graced with the presence of guest speaker Lee Rouson, a former NFL runningback that was a two-time Super Bowl winner with the New York Giants. He gave a phenomenal speech to the young players on having a “super goal” in football and in life.

Assemblywoman Michele R. Titus showed her love and appreciation granting our New York City winning All-Americans football team by awarding them with certificates of merit. Everyone had a enlightening and joyous time and the children were the biggest stars of the event. For additional information about the Rockaway Ravens or to join as a player or coach, contact President Dexter Archbald at 646-247-0066.
