Mary Ann Dye-Rochford
Mary Ann Dye-Rochford, 79, a longtime Rockaway resident, died April 8.
Dye-Rochford was born on January 14, 1931 in Winston Salem, North Carolina and was a registered nurse at Queens General Hospital until she retired in 1993. She received an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Queensboro College and her nursing degree from State University of New York.
Dye-Rochford was preceded in death by her husband, George; brother, Richard William Dye; and sister, Mattie Juanita Dye-Worrell.
She is survived by her sons, George Raymond Dye (Beverly) and Lee Wayne Dye of Augusta, Georgia; daughter, Rhenetta Rochford of Ohio; grandson, Michael X. Dye (Sherry); granddaughters, Jessica D. Dye of Augusta, Georgia and Shaina Rochford of Ohio; brother, Luther V. Dye (New York Supreme Court Justice Retired); brother-in-law, Leamon Worrell; a live-in friend and companion, Elnora Massey; a special nephew, Bryan Dye; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. A funeral mass was held at Community Baptist Church, Jamaica, New York. Interment followed at Rockville Cemetery, Lynbrook, New York.
