Four PPA Staff Members Receive Degrees

The graduating class of 2010 has four shining stars from Peninsula Preparatory Academy Charter School (PPA). PPA would like to announce that four of their staff members have completed undergraduate and graduate degrees at their respective universities and colleges. Mellissa Gordon, PPA’s fourth-grade teaching assistant, recently completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of New Rochelle. Gordon was selected to give the keynote address at the College of New Rochelle’s graduation ceremony. Gaetane Smith is another one of PPA 2010 graduates. Smith completed her Master of Science degree in Education from St. John’s University. She is currently serving as one of PPA’s second-grade teaching assistants. Smith also worked with PPA’s fifth-grade scholars while completing her student teaching hours. She has been serving at PPA for two years.Chakena Harris is also completing her Master of Science degree in Special Education. She attended Touro College while completing her graduate work. Harris serves the scholars of PPA in the capacity of a teacher assistant. She has dedicated her time to the completion of her graduate degree and has been serving the scholars at PPA for two years.

Tiehise Shell EdD. completed her doctorate in education at North Central University. Dr. Shell currently serves the scholars of PPA as the Data Administrator. Two fourth-grade scholars, Adeola Adeleye and Eve Omorogieva, wrote a song titled Believe Until You Succeed in order to commemorate the announcement of Shell’s completed doctorate degree.
