Police officers from the 101 Precinct in Far Rockaway, responding to a call of a dispute with a firearm on Beach 30 Street last Friday night, didn’t find the firearm, but did find a halfpound of pot in a second floor apartment.

Police sources say that the first officers responding to the scene at about 12:09 p.m. on April 9 saw a “quantity of marijuana in plain sight.”

That led them to get a warrant to search the second floor apartment at 401 Beach 30 Street, belonging to Jemell Richardson, 32, and Lashanda Jones, 19

When they finally got the warrant at about 8 p.m. that night, detectives entered the apartment and found two children, Jahmel Richardson, 7 months old, and Jemell Richardson, 30 months old.

They also found plastic bags containing marijuana in a bedroom closet and three scales, commonly used to weigh drugs. Cops also found a large quantity of glassine bags in the apartment.
