Sorrentino Advances To Soccer Title Game

A Vikings player looks up at the ball A Vikings player looks up at the ball The Queens indoor soccer tournament was held at Sorrentino Recreation Center, located at 18-48 Cornaga Avenue in Far Rockaway, from March 13 - April 3.

The tournament began on March 13 with the participants competing in the 13-years-olds and under division. The boys and girls are members of participating Queens Recreation centers. Four teams from the Sorrentino Recreation Center took part in the tournament.

The Queens championships were held April 3. Playoff games included first place Sorrentino Vikings versus fourth place Sorrentino Victory and second place ARROW versus third place Lost Battalion Hall.

In the championship game the Sorrentino Vikings defeated ARROW by the score of 8-1. The awards were presented to the Queens Borough Champions.

Both the Sorrentino Vikings and ARROW teams advanced to the citywide championships, which was already played at Lost Battalion Hall on Saturday, April 10.
