The Rockaway Theatre Company’s “Take a Seat” fundraising campaign is in full swing. Businesses, individuals and community organizations have begun purchasing commemorative plaques for installation on individual seats in the Post Theatre, and others have had their names engraved onto a plaque board in the lobby of the theatre.

The members of First Congregational Church of Rockaway Beach, one of the oldest houses of worship in the Rockaways, dating to 1886, recently voted to make such a donation to the theatre company. First Congregational has hosted original performances of musical and theatrical groups in its John C. Green Chapel for many decades, including the group that ultimately grew into the Rockaway Theatre Company, and wishes to pay tribute to the extensive volunteer effort RTC has contributed to improve the quality of life in Rockaway.
