St. Mary Star Of The Sea And St. Gertrude Celebrate Easter

St. Mary Star of the Sea and St. Gertrude Parish celebrated Easter last week with a Good Friday observance led by Diocese of Brooklyn Auxiliary Bishop Octavio Cisneros. He presided over the reenactment of the Passion and Stations of the Cross with nearly 1000 people from the parish making the more than two mile-long procession. Bishop Cisneros also led the Celebration of the Passion of the Lord at St. Mary Church.

At 5:30 Easter Morning, the parish of St. Mary Star of the Sea and St. Gertrude also celebrated a Sunrise Mass on the beach between Beach 9 and Beach 10 Streets. Nearly 300 parishioners attended.
