Spring Greens This Weekend

“Spring Greens” on Saturday, March 20 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. takes a look at the spring that has sprung and the signs that are everywhere – in the trees, on the shrubs, and even on ground level.

A park ranger will investigate these greens with you on this first day of spring at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.

On Sunday, March 21 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. begin indoors with a presentation and then wait and watch outside in the dusk for the remarkable bird, American woodcock, and his aerobatic courtship display.

Bring binoculars and make reservations at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge: 718-318-4340.

The refuge is in Queens on Cross Bay Boulevard. It is accessible by public transportation.

For more information, please phone 718-318-4340.
