Teen Girls Busted In Vicious Attack

By Howard Schwach

A middle aged woman walking home on Central Avenue in Far Rockaway was accosted and viciously assaulted by three teenaged girls at about 3:07 p.m. on March 5, police say.

According to police, the woman was walking at Central Avenue and Sage Street when the three girls, who remain unidentified because of their age, grabbed her and pushed her to the ground. The three, identified only as a black 14-year-old, and two Hispanics aged 13 and 15, then began kicking and punching the woman repeatedly.

While they were beating the woman badly enough to put her in the hospital they opened her purse and took approximately $200. They then fled the scene on foot, but were apprehended about 15 minutes later. Police declined to identify the victim, who was treated and released from St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway.

The three were charged in Family Court with assault and robbery.
