Rosa Almeda Threats
Rosa Almeda Threats, 63, a longtime Rockaway resident, died January 26.
Threats was born on April 4, 1946 in Charleston, West Virginia and worked as the Director of Environmental Services for the Queens Center for Rehabilitation and Residential Health Care in Whitestone, New York. She attended Nassau Community College where she earned a degree in Social Sciences.
Threats was preceded in death by her three brothers, Rudolph Abner Jr., Albert Thomas Abner and Gregory Abner.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Threats Jr.; daughters, Theresa Threats, Latrice N. Threats-Brogsia and Tiffany C. Newsome; grandchildren, De-Anna Moore, Buryl Moore, Armon Brogsia, Joseph Threats III and Joseph Olmo; great grandchildren, Jovan, Aleana, Amein, and Jayla; sisters, Ann L. White, Valencia Abner both of Charleston, WV, and Chiquita Abner of Tennessee; brothers, Douglas Abner of Charleston, West Virginia and Alphonso Abner of Rockville Centre, New York; and many cousins, nieces, nephew and friends.
Funeral arrangements and memorial service were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. Disposition took place at St. Michael’s Crematory, East Elmhurst, New York.
