Johnette Sullivan-Hoop, 69, a nine year Broad Channel resident, died February 26.
Sullivan-Hoop was born May 17, 1940 to parents, Alfred and Marie Sullivan in New York, New York. She graduated from Flushing High School in 1958 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie- Mellon University in 1965. She was also an accredited New York City teacher of ESL, GED, and public school students. She has performed in many off-Broadway roles including the seven-year tenure as Helga in the off- Broadway interactive theater play, Grandma Sylvia’s Funeral. She was a member of AFTRA, the Screen Actor’s Guild, and Actor’s Equity.
She is survived by her husband, David A. Hoop; daughter, Sarah McKinley-Hoop of High Falls, New York; sons, Jonathan Warrington Mayo of Boca Raton, Florida and Gavin Sullivan Hoop of Astoria, New York; niece, Pat Miller; nephew, Alfred Sullivan; and father and mother-inlaw Bill and Jean Hoop of Struthers, Ohio.
Funeral arrangements and interment remained private.
