Driver Remains Critical In BCD Crash

An unidentified driver coming off the Gil Hodges Marine Parkway Bridge on a snowy Thursday crashed into an overpass causing massive injuries, including two broken legs and injuries to his head, police sources say. Eyewitnesses who were driving behind the man said that he was moving in excess of the speed limit on a snowy day and that he apparently lost control of his car. They say his head went through the windshield, causing the head injuries. Sources say that the man was so critically injured that police and EMS on the scene declared him “likely” to die. He was transported to Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, where he reportedly remains in critical condition. Photo by Chris Kalisak.
