Rockaway Fisheads Host Annual Irish Day Parade Party

By Alan Shaw

Once again the Rockaway Rugby Club will pull out all the stops for this year’’ St. Patrick’s Day parade party. The team will present Shileilagh Law in concert along with others for The Rockaway Rugby Club’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party, which will be held this Saturday, March 6 at the original rugby bar, Tubridy’s on Beach 108 Street.

There will be a heated tent, three bands, DJ and refreshments served cold. The bands begin at 3 p.m. - so get there early. Only those people who are 21 or older may enter. Come hang out with some of the finest looking rugby fellahs in town, “The Fisheads”, in a tent where Ireland and New York City meets. Be on the looking out for Bobby Johnson and Grouch McCann as the team rings in the warm weather and good times! This is a fundraiser and your attendance is appreciated.

This will begin the spring season for a well built rugby team this year. With a great showing in Boston last November, the team looks to build on that performance in a bunch of tournament games this spring. Anyone looking to join the action, the club welcomes new members all the time.

Feel free to come out to practice and there will be free car pools from Scott Bloudstein.
