Marilyn Lois Greene-Carroll

Marilyn Lois Greene-Carroll, 66, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died February 19.

Greene-Carroll was born on July 14, 1943 in Far Rockaway. She worked for the United States Postal Service and as a bookkeeper. After graduating from Far Rockaway High School, she attended Nassau Community College and received a degree in liberal arts in 1986.

Greene-Carroll was preceded in death by her parents, Maude and James Greene and brother, James Hicks Greene.

She is survived by her daughters, Audra Jay and Lisa Paige of Inwood New York; sisters, Joyce Summey of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Beverly Champion, Helene (James) Ketter and Judith (Charles) Hall all of Far Rockaway; brothers, Richard (Fern) Greene of East Fishkill, New York and Michael (Barbara) Greene of West Hempstead, New York; eight nieces, nine nephews, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a special niece, Kim Floyd, one very special niece, Cheryll Greene Bailey who was there above and beyond; goddaughter, Erica Dixon, five special friends Frances Williams, Gloria Weeks, Jackie Delph, Brenda Oliver and Linda Mattison, and a host of cousins.

Funeral arrangements were entrust- ed to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. A funeral mass took place at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Arverne. Interment took place at Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, New York.
