Correct Belle Harbor Boundaries

Dear Editor,

A letter published in last week’s Wave mistakenly said the Belle Harbor Yacht Club is in Rockaway Park. Of course it’s in Belle Harbor; that’s why it’s called the Belle Harbor Yacht Club.

The Belle Harbor area was created in 1902. Emil Lucev has published the original map. Belle Harbor begins at Jamaica Bay and Beach 124 Street, south to Rockaway Beach Boulevard, west to Beach “ 126 Street, south to the ocean, west to Beach 141 Street, and north to Jamaica Bay. The best proof is that your deed says Belle Harbor.
