Knifepoint Duo Arrested In Robbery
Two Far Rockaway roommates were arrested last week after allegedly robbing a man at knifepoint on Mott Avenue, according to police.
José Guzman, 20, and Alfredo Rojas, 16, of Nameoke Street allegedly grabbed the victim walking near Beach 20 Street at 3:45 a.m. last Sunday, police said. Guzman is accused of pulling out a kitchen knife and holding it against the man’s neck while Rojas was searching through the victim’s pockets. The men fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to court papers.
The duo didn’t make it very far as police apprehended the individuals on Redfern Avenue and Mott Avenue about 15 minutes later. The men were both charged with first degree robbery and fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property. They were arraigned and held on $25,000 bail with a future court date of February 22.
