Anthony Frederick Angelone

Anthony Frederick Angelone, 88, a longtime Rockaway resident, died February 15.

Angelone was born January, 24, 1922, in Rockaway Beach but moved to New Jersey in 1987. He served in the US Army from 1942 to 1946 on Eisenhower’s staff. He was a longtime member of St. Camillus Church where he served as a church trustee, spent many years as treasurer of the Holy Name Society and St. Camillus Sports Committee, and was an usher from 1960 to 1987.

Angelone is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (nee LaRuffa); brothers, Joseph and Dominick; and sister, Mary Salamone.

He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy; and son, Robert, both of Wall, New Jersey.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Reilly’s Funeral Home, Belmar, New Jersey. A wake will be held Friday, February 19, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Reilly’s Funeral Home. Interment will take place at St. John‘s Cemetery, Middle Village, New York.
