Public School 47 Holds Winter Math Olympics

P.S. 47 in Broad Channel recently hosted the Winter Olympics, marking the 100th day of the school year.

All week the students competed in math challenges to “train” for the Olympics. There were stations set up for the students to try different activities ranging from “Can we solve 100 math equations?” to “Can we spin a hula hoop 100 times?”

There were also stations where students were asked if they could dance for 100 seconds, do 100 jumping jacks, list 100 things they loved about P.S. 47, and more.

All of the students participated, and the seventh and eighth graders helped the younger students complete the tasks. Each received a small prize for competing.
