PHC To Host Blood Drive
Peninsula Hospital Center will sponsor a much needed blood drive Monday, February 22.
The blood drive is being held in conjunction with Long Island Blood Services and New York Blood Center. The recent snow storm has reduced the blood supplies throughout the City of New York and this blood drive is extremely critical to all of us.
Eligible donors should be in good health with a minimum weight of 110 pounds and be between the ages of 17 and 75, although older persons may donate blood with the physician’s written permission. Additionally, many rules have changed regarding some of the medicines which might have precluded people from donating blood. Those who wish to donate blood but have questions regarding their eligibility to donate are asked to call 1-800-688- 0900.
Peninsula Hospital Center’s Blood Drive will be held on Monday, February 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Meditation Room at Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation. PCECR is located directly adjacent to the Hospital Center building at 50-15 Beach Channel Drive. If you wish to make an appointment to give blood, please call 718-734-2626.
