A fire that started in the basement of a Belle Harbor home quickly spread to nearly the entire three-story house in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 31, according to fire sources.
Fire Department officials responded to the home, located at 246 Beach 127 Street, at approximately 4:50 a.m. after a fire started near the boiler located inside the basement. The fire then spread to the first floor rear of the house before firefighters were able to bring it under control in just less than 45 minutes.
There were no injuries to report as all occupants of the home made it out safely when smoke detectors began ringing throughout the house.
The home, located at 246 Beach 127 Street, was boarded up the morning after the fire.
