PHC Appoints Orthopaedics Chief

Peninsula Hospital Center announced the appointment of Norman Sveilich, D.O., FAAOS, FAOAO, as Chief, Division of Orthopaedics, this week.

Dr. Sveilich has nearly 20 years of history with Peninsula Hospital Center as its Director, Orthopaedic Residency Training Program. Over the years, he has mentored and trained 65 Osteopathic Orthopaedic residents, many of whom have gone on to further training at some of the most prestigious medical institutions in the United States and from there, on to very successful careers in Orthopaedics. Sveilich is well-known as a dynamic educator and vanguard of newer orthopaedic techniques including a one-day partial knee replacement surgery for arthritis patients and computer assisted hip and knee replacement surgery.

Sveilich is the Director of the Orthopaedic Residency PHC-Consortium, Chief of Orthopaedics at Franklin Hospital, NS/LIJ Health System, Director, Orthopaedic Clinic NS/LIJ System, Manhasset Division and Member of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at NYIT Advisory Board. He also maintains an active private orthopaedic practice in Howard Beach, New York.

“As Chief, Division of Orthopaedics, I have plans to bring in former program graduates as ‘super specialists’ in both spine and hand surgery,” says Sveilich. “I am looking forward to an expansion of the orthopaedic services at the Hospital Center.”
