Gillibrand was joined on stage by Harry G, founder of the Doo Wop Concert series and the scholarship fund it supports, by Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer, Democratic District Leader Lew Simon and WVOX radio talk show hosts Dr. Dan Miller and Dennis Nardone.

The senator gave the audience a treat by doing what she called the jitterbug, dancing with Dr. Dan Miller to the delight of the 700 in the auditorium.

Gillibrand welcomed all in attendance and thanked Harry G for the 17 years of organizing his well known Doo Wop concert series and for the work he has done to support the students at Beach Channel High School by offering part of the concert proceeds for a scholarship for deserving graduating students who will be attending college.

Harry G concerts are the longest running Doo Wop concerts in the Tri State area helping to keep alive the music of the 50s and the 60s.

Some of the acts included Vito and the Salutations, Cleveland Still & the Dubbs, Norman Fox & The Rob Roys, Super Girls Group, The Quotations, The Fireflies, The Devotions, Joey & The Paradons, Wrenditions, Twin Gold, Tony Ferari’s Chaperones, Lou Rotundo, NY’s Cascades, The Four Pops, The Ideals, the Clarions and, of course, Senator Kirstin Gillibrand and Dr. Dan Miller. Music was provided by Harry G’s Rock ‘n Roll All Star Band.
