Beach Club Property Sold For $2.75 Million

The Beach Club sits at the beach end of Beach 116 Street. The Beach Club sits at the beach end of Beach 116 Street. The Beach Club, which served for many years as a watering hole on Beach 116 Street and then morphed into a catering hall before it was closed three years ago, has been sold for $2.75 million dollars, according to the realtor who cut the deal earlier this week.

According to a spokesperson for Massey Knakal Realtors in Manhattan, the former catering hall was sold for all cash to an unnamed buyer, who plans to renovate the building and rent out the space. It was unclear at press time as to what kind of commercial space the catering hall would become, but local sources say it will most likely be stores, with perhaps one restaurant at street level, with apartments or condos on the upper floors.

“In September of 2008, most of the block was upzoned to R7A, said Sean Barnes, the realtor’s First Vice President of Sales. “That gives the property 114,400 buildable square feet.”

The property, which was owned by Steve and Kenny Good, has been vacant for three years.
