The Inner Voice

Commentary by Marilyn Gelfand

Take it one day at a time. We are told to have patience, let things unfold, and to go slowly. It is not easy to do especially when insecurities are triggered. We want to eliminate impulsiveness and to be careful when making decisions. We want to weigh it all, and then make a logical and good decision. But things keep changing.

We may have to remake a decision everyday. The point is that things do change and circumstances present themselves sometimes when we least expect it.

The key is to be okay with change. It is okay to change your mind and to allow the flow of life to direct you in ways you were not considering. The question is are we guided by our instincts or are we just playing it safe and disregarding what might be a true feeling of creativity. Even if there is a fear of what could happen in the unknown, it is sometimes good to try something in a new fashion. Change is predictable. We may stay the same, but the world around us does change.

If we suspend logic when we are expecting our intuition to give us information, it is easier to be flexible when change happens. Something may be happening in the background, and we are not aware of it through logic. It is good to be open to new ways and new people if your instincts are pushing you in that direction.
