Hayes Qualifies To Compete in Colgate Women’s Games

After five grueling weeks competing in the Colgate Women’s 800 meter race held at Pratt University, Bishop Kearney High School’s Meghan “Hollywood” Hayes qualified as one of six finalists to compete in the 36th Annual Colgate Women’s Games to be held at Madison Square Garden this Saturday.

Hayes faced off against 60 female runners and some of the top half milers in New York State. She ran a personal best for the 800 meter race in a time of 2 minutes and 23 seconds to clinch a spot in the final.

The finalist will be competing for an educational grant in aid of $1,000 for the winner, $500 for second and $250 for third, to an academic institution of their choice. The Bishop Kearney coaches and teammates wish the best of luck and success to Hayes as she makes her debut in the historic Madison Square Garden.
