SJEH Donates To Haiti Relief Efforts
St. John’s Episcopal Hospital continues to support the Haiti earthquake relief effort. Last week, attending surgeon Rulx Dupiton, MD, flew into the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince along with former resident Michelle Gordon to assist with medical relief efforts. He is heading for the provinces and a hospital north of the capital where they are in need of surgeons.
St. John’s Episcopal Hospital donated more than 30 boxes of medical supplies to the Haiti Relief Effort being organized by New York City Councilman James Sanders, Jr. The Hospital is also donating more medical supplies to relief efforts supported by the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island.
The Hospital also is offering bereavement counseling to staff affected by the disaster through the Department of Psychiatry and Hospital chaplains are also available for assistance.
