By Howard Schwach
Police officers from the 100 Precinct responding to a call of a nude man unconscious on the beach, found not only that man, but another under the nearby boardwalk.

Local sources say that James Fitch lived under the boardwalk at Beach 93 Street. Local sources say that James Fitch lived under the boardwalk at Beach 93 Street. According to police sources, a passerby called the 911 emergency system at about 5:25 a.m. on Monday, saying that there was an unconscious nude male lying on the beach near the shoreline.

Police searching for his clothes then found another unconscious male lying under the boardwalk.

The first man was transported to the Peninsula Hospital Center, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The second man, who was found under the boardwalk, was declared dead by emergency service workers at the scene.

The first man found is described by police as a male black of indeterminate age.

The second man was described as a white male in his forties.

Local sources, however, identified the man found under the boardwalk as James Fitch, a homeless man who had established a home for himself under the boardwalk.

Police believe that the two deaths are not related.

Police sources add that the investigation has so far turned up no criminality in relation to either of the deaths.

Ellen Borakove, a spokesperson for the city’s Chief Medical Examiner told The Wave that an autopsy on the stillunidentified black male was conducted on Tuesday, but that the results were not conclusive.

“The cause of death is pending,” she said. “We still have tissue tests that must be completed.”

The autopsy on Fitch was to be completed on Wednesday, but The Wave had not yet received the results at press time.
