Officers Mo (second from right) and Spano (far right) receive the 101 Officers of the Month award from 101 Precinct Council Vice President Denean Ferguson and precinct commander Deputy Inspector Brian McMahon. The 101 Precinct’s Officers Joseph Spano and Kenny Mo – who work during the midnight shift – were awarded plaques for Officers of the Month during the precinct’s Community Council Meeting last week.

“On Monday, January 11, at approximately 2:45 in the morning Officers Joseph Spano and Kenny Mo responded to a radio run in front of 439 Beach 22 Street,” said precinct commander Deputy Inspector Brian McMahon.

After seeing one suspect pass a firearm to the other, both individuals were stopped and frisked. The officers recovered a .22 caliber gun and a switch blade during the arrest.

“Due to their great professionalism and training that they have, they were able to arrest them,” said McMahon.

Both suspects – Jhony Edgardo, 26, and Fakiry Emamorado, 20, – were arrested for criminal possession of a weapon.
