St. John's Teen Busted On Assault Charge

By Howard Schwach

One teen resident of the St. John’s Residence for Boys assaulted another on Wednesday night, punching him in the face and then kicking him while he was down, police records show.

According to police sources, Omari Isles, 17, who lives in the St. John’s residence at 150 Beach 110 Street in Rockaway Beach, was involved in an argument with another teen at about 8 p.m. on January 13.

Isles allegedly punched his victim in the mouth, knocking him to the floor. While the victim was down, sources say, Isles kicked the victim in the head, causing damage to his left eye and temple.

Police Officer Alex Martins arrested Isles on assault charges and he was given a Desk Appearance Ticket (DAT) at the 100 Precinct in Rockaway Beach.

He is due back in court to answer the charges against him on February 16.
